We conducted four online focus groups with experts from the agriculture and forest sector in Germany, to elicit user needs regarding decadal climate information.

On 24 September the entire consortium held an online status meeting to welcome new members to the project and to give an update on the current state of the work packages. The steering committee had a meeting the day before.

From 19-20 September 2024 the ICON-Seamless Community held an All-Hands meeting at the DWD branch office at Seewetteramt Hamburg. On behalf of the Coming Decade consortium Sebastian Brune gave an overview on the Coming Decade project.

The first meeting of the project consortium was held at DWD Offenbach.

The Coming Decade project was featured in the German daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel on Feb 20, 2024 with the title "Statistiken für die Meteorologie : Wie ist das Wetter in 10 Jahren?" by Pepe Egger.

Global warming is advancing, but how will this affect Germany in the upcoming decade? Six research institutions, including the DKRZ, are collaboratively developing a new climate prediction system in the 'Coming Decade' project to make more precise predictions for Germany and Europe.
